For decades, green tea has been known as a fascinating and extremely popular drink. This great interest comes from its medicinal properties, but also from its cosmetic properties on the skin.

Composed of many elements such as catechins, caffeine, polyphenols, tannins, minerals, vitamins and others, green tea has multiple benefits for the skin tissues.

But what are they? To answer this question, this article will expose some of its precious powers.

Anti-aging

There are many components of green tea, but it is especially its countless antioxidants that are appreciated to fight skin aging. Green tea helps defy the effects of time, as the polyphenols it contains are formidable in suppressing free radicals, which are the cause of skin aging.

Its components offer the epidermis the means to regain its elasticity through cell renewal.

In addition to these benefits, green tea will also act on the immune system to strengthen it and ensure better protection of the epidermis.

To give your skin youth and radiance, simply consume it or apply a green tea cream or milk daily.

Purifying and cleansing

The skin is often exposed to various external aggressions and the toxins that can damage it are many and varied. Without external input, the skin loses its radiance, becomes dull and lifeless.

To restore vitality to the skin and allow it to regain its beauty, the cleansing properties of green tea are perfect, thanks to its astringent properties derived from tannins.

That's not all, it also helps to maintain a good hydration of the skin.

You can nourish your skin with these elements by applying a green tea milk or cream. Or simply by consuming this drink and making it part of your routine.

Anti acne

Green tea is suitable for all skin types, but ideally and more particularly for oily skin. As a drink, green tea stimulates the body and has properties similar to a fat burner. Thus, the fats present in excessive quantity under the cutaneous tissue will be more easily eliminated.

Pimples and especially acne, caused among other things by the presence of too much fat and sebum, will therefore be reduced.

Scientific studies conducted in Japan and Miami have shown that the antioxidants present in green tea (catechins such as epigallocatechin-3-gallate "EGCG") significantly reduce the presence of acne pimples on patients.

Beauty tip: the green tea steam bath

An effective, economical and easy to do tip will allow you to benefit from the benefits of tea on your skin.

· In a saucepan, boil water and add a few green tea leaves (about 20 grams).

· Remove from the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.

· Put your face over the pot and place a towel over your head. The goal is to get the maximum amount of steam to your skin.

· Be careful with the heat of the vapors, go gradually and don't hesitate to wait if they are too hot

The purpose of these vapors is to dilate your skin in order to open the pores, and thus, to bring the properties of green tea in depth. Once the skin is clean and dry, you can apply a green tea-based milk or cream to finalize your treatment.
